Dan Krause is one of only nine board certified Estate Planning Law Specialists* in Wisconsin. He studied law on a scholarship at New York University School of Law. Having graduated in 1999 with a J.D. and an M.A. (philosophy), Dan and his former law partner wrote the book Estate Planning in Wisconsin: Privacy, Protection and Taking Control, published in 2017.
Dan is a retired Army JAG officer. He was also a U.S. Peace Corps teacher and school administrator in Kenya (’92-’94). Currently he is the principal attorney in an estate planning, probate and elder law practice with offices in Madison, Oregon and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dan has set up many hundreds of estate plans since 1999.
Dan is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois, as well as both Wisconsin federal district courts and three Indian Tribal Courts. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Dane County Bar Association, Wisconsin Elder Law Section of the State Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Wealthcounsel and Eldercounsel.
Dan presents regularly on estate planning subjects to military and civilian groups.

Jeff is executive director of the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. After over 30 years working at UW-Madison, Jeff returned to school to get his Master of Social Work degree with a focus on aging and healthcare. He interned at local memory assessment clinics and worked as an ADAW dementia outreach specialist before becoming ED in spring 2021. Jeff was caregiver for his father, Dave, who died with vascular dementia in 2011.
